Lee Lee’s Life Lessons, the birthplace of the Let Us Play™ Series

Supporting connection, joy, and wellbeing during and beyond cancer.

Our Mission

Lee Lee’s Life Lessons is a nonprofit organization founded on lived experience and the belief that support beyond diagnosis matters.

Our mission is to increase access to compassionate, person-centred experiences for individuals affected by cancer, creating opportunities through survivorship programmes, retreats, workshops, and community initiatives for people to reconnect with themselves, others, and the possibility of joy after adversity.

Rooted in survivorship, community, and positive psychology, our work recognises that healing is not only about treatment or survival. It is also about identity, meaning, connection, and learning how to live fully again. We believe well-being extends beyond physical recovery alone, and that support should continue after diagnosis, after treatment, and throughout the evolving experience of survivorship.

Let Us Play™: Thriving With & Beyond Cancer

Let Us Play™ was developed to support individuals navigating life during and beyond cancer through reflection, creativity, connection, and joy-centred experiences. Inspired by founder Lisa Caughman’s own experience with cancer, the programme grew from a desire to create the kind of support that helps people not only cope with adversity, but rediscover meaning, resilience, and possibility beyond it.

Today, Let Us Play™ is delivered through a range of survivorship programmes, community workshops, retreats, reflection circles, and educational events, all designed to help participants reconnect with themselves and others in ways that feel engaging, supportive, and deeply human.

At its heart is the recognition that surviving and thriving are not always the same thing, and that healing often involves more than physical recovery alone.

Why This Work Matters

Cancer can affect every part of a person’s life, not just their physical health. Many people find themselves navigating changes in identity, confidence, relationships, purpose, and their sense of self, both during treatment and long after it has ended. While medical care focuses on treating the disease, support for these wider emotional and personal challenges can be much harder to find.

Lee Lee’s Life Lessons was created from the belief that no one should have to navigate life during or beyond cancer feeling unsupported or alone. Our work exists to help people reconnect with themselves, build meaningful connections with others, and find moments of joy, purpose, and possibility as they move forward in their own way.
